History

Lying near the border of Lorain and Erie counties, picturesque Mill Hollow Nursery is tucked behind the 1830’s sandstone home of Bob and Jody Frimel. Mill Hollow Nursery has been owned and operated by Jody Frimel since 1986. Few places reflect the history of Brownhelm Township as well as this original Brownhelm homestead. Located at 51595 North Ridge Rd. (Mason Rd. in Erie Co.) this scenic property neighbors the Lorain County Metro Parks, Vermilion River Reservation and historic Mill Hollow Bacon Museum. Mill Hollow Nursery is a seasonal greenhouse business specializing in the “unique” and grows many new and unusual varieties of annuals, perennials, culinary herbs, heirloom vegetable plants and hanging baskets. In addition to growing plants, Mill Hollow Nursery offers a container planting service for homeowners and businesses.
