The classes listed below are held at Lorain Co. Metro Parks, Vermilion River Reservation, in the Mill Hollow Carriage Barn, unless otherwise noted. Pre-register at least 1 week prior to each class by calling 1-800-LCM-PARK or registering online at http://reservations.metroparks.cc/programs. Class fees are collected at the door (cash or checks, only)

APRIL 14- 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, May 29- 6:00 pm-8:00 pm  FAERIE GARDEN WORKSHOP
Spend an "enchanted" afternoon or evening creating a miniature faerie garden to take home. Class includes the container, soil, moss, plants, and decorations needed to make your own faerie garden come alive. Class fee $40.00.

APRIL 15 - 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm   MAKE AND TAKE EDIBLE SPRING GARDEN BASKET
Create your own edible container garden! Spring is in the air with the fresh smell of young leaf lettuces, Swiss Chard, pansies/violas, parsley, and strawberry plants. Bring your own basket, tub or pot (14" or larger) or purchase one from a unique assortment. All plants and extra materials are purchased in the class.Can be placed outside now!

APRIL 22 – 2:00 pm-4:00 pm   ORGANIC HERB GARDEN WORKSHOP
Create and take home your own organic herb garden as Mill Hollow Nursery guides you through the selection, planting, harvesting and care of herbs. Bring your own container (with drainage) or purchase one from a unique assortment. Class fee $5.00. All plants and extra materials are an additional cost.

APRIL 23 – 7:00 pm-8:00 pm   TROUGH GARDEN with SUCCULENTS
Plant and take home your own succulent trough garden. Select from an assortment of hardy, drought tolerant succulents to plant in a hand-made trough. Enjoy this perennial garden for years to come. Bring your own gloves. Class fee $40.00

MAY 24 -10:30am-1:00pm MAY 24- 6:30 pm-9:00 pm   COOKS HERB GARDEN CLASS
If you have always wanted to plant an herb garden, this class will get you started. Marcia DePalma from Laurel Run Cooking School and Jody Frimel from Mill Hollow Nursery will highlight eight popular culinary herbs. Jody will discuss how to plant your herbs, growing needs and plant maintenance; Marcia will teach you how to bring their vibrant flavors into your kitchen to make herb butters, salad dressings, beverages, breads and more. You will receive an HERB NOTEBOOK filled with recipes, history and growing tips. After class, herbs grown at Mill Hollow Nursery will be for sale (cash or checks only) so that you can choose your favorites to start your garden! Class fee $50.

MAY 31 – 6:00 pm-8:00 pm  FLORAL LIVING WREATH CLASS
Create a unique and colorful floral living wreath. Personalized instruction given to each person. Handouts provided for proper care of wreath. Choose from an assortment of annuals for sun or shade. Wreath form is re-plantable year after year. Class fee $60 for completed wreath or $43 for all materials needed to re-plant your 14"-16" wreath form. Class held at Mill Hollow Nursery. APRIL 21 - 9:00 am- 3:00 pm   VERMILION GARDENERS FAIR
Shop for flowers, plants, herbs, unique garden items, home décor, landscaping services, original art, handmade jewelry and more at the 8th annual Vermilion in Bloom Gardeners Fair. Get a jump start on the season at this 17th annual indoor and outdoor event featuring a plant sale of herbs, perennials and cold hardy annuals. Herbal products, crafts and food available! FREE! Laurel Run Cooking School will be on hand with food samples from 10 am-2 pm, sharing recipes using fresh herbs from the garden and celebrating Cinco de Mayo!
